The Bridge is about to launch a blog.

As a church, we want to have transparency of leadership, show unity and help to bleed vision of what God is doing through the body here.
Each of our departments has a mission to 'help people find Jesus Christ...' The problem is, unless we tell people, they won't know.

As a Bridge attendee, unless I have a Junior High kid, I won't know how Bridge Junior High kids are changing the world around them. The same logic applies to High School, Children's Ministry, College, Young Adults, etc. !

You get the idea.

Additionally, if we start telling people how God is using The Bridge to change the world around us, people will find out. They will discover that our church body is a group of people with purpose and a mission to help people find Jesus Christ and follow Him fully.

They'll find out when they Google certain terms, like "Storyland Motel, fresno" and discover that our own high school kids were bringing groceries to residents there. Or they'll search for "Pyle Elementary" and discover we have a sports ministry on their campus. What if they search for "Extreme Makeover in Fresno?" Can you see the awesome implications?

Currently, our church relies on Sunday morning announcements or photo slideshows to inform people in our own auditorium. Or worse, we passively have traditional media cover it. Pretty sketchy! What will happen when the Fresno community starts finding out how intentional we are about being useful to God.

Over the next few weeks and continually for the foreseeable future, I'll be asking our staff to write brief articles about their ministry and the events they have had. All they'll need to do is write I’ll get it tagged, posted and published. I'll promote the blog in our bulletin, our Facebook page, the web site and elsewhere if needed.

I'm pretty jazzed about this, so thanks for reading this far.
